Puerto Escondido

Puerto Escondido is a beautiful cove located in the Loreto municipality in Baja California Sur, Mexico. It is situated on the eastern coast of the Baja California Peninsula, between Loreto and La Paz. It is bounded by three islands, making it one of the best protected harbors on the inside sea. Numerous boaters and yachties call this cove and its marina, their “hurricane hole,” meaning where they pilot their vessels for protection when a hurricane is forecast and inbound.

Puerto Escondido is a popular spot for boaters due to its well-protected harbor, which is surrounded by tall rocky cliffs and provides a natural shelter from the strong winds and waves. The cove is also a popular destination for fishing, snorkeling, and diving due to its clear waters and abundant marine life.

There are several amenities in the area, including a marina, a restaurant, and a small store. Visitors can also enjoy hiking in the nearby mountains or exploring the neighboring beaches. Puerto Escondido is just fifteen miles south of the magical city of Loreto.
